If we lay everything down for Christ, we gain eternal life, if we lay the cross of Christ down for sin, we submit to condemnation, which is an eternal death sentence unless we heed the call of God and repent and sin no more. God is not going to tolerate sin in our lives. The wages of sin is death- always. Christ didn’t die for our sins so we could keep sinning, He died to take away the sins of the world. Without holiness, no man shall see the Lord- that is an absolute promise. There is no ands, ifs, or buts. Sin has to stop. Jesus said, if you eye causes you to sin, pluck it out; and if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. Jesus told Mary Magdelene to go and sin no more. Read Hebrews 6 and Hebrews 10. It says if we sin willfully after receiving the truth, we are insulting the Spirit of grace. God will not hear the prayer of sinners, until they repent and honor His Word, keeping His commandments. Is God answering your prayers? Or do you acknowledge you have sin in your life? To him who knows to do good and doesn’t do it, it is sin. Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand- that means it is at stake, if we don’t repent of sin, we risk losing heaven. Now what will it be? Christ or sin?
